PhD Program

Meet our phd students.

Nina Ali.

The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Nursing Program at the University at Buffalo prepares nurse scientists and academicians who will contribute to knowledge development, theory generation and hypothesis testing to improve nursing practice outcomes and health care. Students are educated to communicate and function across disciplines, preparing graduates to advance inter- and multidisciplinary teaching and research. All PhD program tracks are offered online.

On this page:

Program tracks.

The Nurse Faculty Loan Program (NFLP) is a funding opportunity that aims to increase the number of qualified nursing faculty. PhD students can apply for up to five years of financial support, contingent upon ongoing federal funding. To learn more, visit the UB SON NFLP page .

Program Objectives and Outcomes

Phd program objectives, additional information.

A PhD program of study requires a significant time commitment. More than 20 hours of work per week outside of the program is discouraged during full-time coursework or dissertation research. While full-time study is ideal, students may also enroll on a part-time basis with the understanding that not all courses are available each semester and scholarships for part-time students are limited.

PhD graduates will be nurse scholars who:

  • Develop the empirical and theoretical bases of nursing practice within a defined research program.
  • Utilize advanced research methodologies and technology in the pursuit of knowledge.
  • Demonstrate expertise in communication of research findings to the scientific and social policy communities.
  • Provide leadership in the development and application of knowledge to nursing research, practice and education using multidisciplinary perspectives.
  • Relate nursing research to the development and/or implementation of health care policy regionally, nationally and internationally.
  • Integrate knowledge of our multicultural society into nursing research to improve and enhance health care and reduce disparities in health outcomes.

PhD Program Outcomes

  • Prepare nurse scientists to generate new knowledge and theory.
  • Extend the evidence-base of nursing.
  • Disseminate knowledge in their roles as researchers, academics and leaders locally, nationally and globally.
  • Affect change in policy, practice and the profession of nursing.

Selecting a Ph.D. program can be challenging. Each nurse has individual work and family demands, so the school needs to fit into the nurse’s busy life. There are a few considerations nurses should take into account when looking for a Ph.D. program:

  • Online Learning vs. Classroom Learning – Selecting an online program vs. an on-campus program is a personal choice. While some prefer the convenience and flexibility of online learning, some enjoy face-to-face, interactive learning, along with peer support. Some programs are 100% online, and some require minimal campus visits (often referred to as "hybrid" programs). Whichever the learning method, nurses should choose the one right for them.
  • Accreditation – National accreditation is critical when selecting a Ph.D. program. Proper accreditation ensures the school meets strict quality standards and allows the nurse to pursue future degree options. Also, nursing boards in some states require national (as opposed to local) accreditation for licensure. Students should look for accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education ( CCNE ) or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing ( ACEN ) when researching schools.
  • Program History – Some nursing programs, including online programs, are popping up left and right. Students should be cautious and do their research when looking at Ph.D. programs. Schools that have been around a long time tend to be more reputable, and they also likely have enough data (for example, graduation rates) that the student can use to measure the program’s success.
  • Program Cost – Cost is a significant factor when deciding to return to school. Most websites are transparent with the tuition cost and associated expenses, so there won't be any surprises. Many schools offer financial aid options as well as the choice to attend part-time. However, students should also prepare for additional expenses such as immunization requirements, technology equipment requirements, supplies, parking fees, and graduation or university fees.
  • Residency/Internship Requirements – Studying course material is one part of Ph.D. programs, but nurses must also apply what they’ve learned to real life. Nurses should make sure that whichever program they choose, they are able to meet the practicum requirements. Ensuring they have resources and mentors in the community and surrounding organizations is crucial to the student's success.

RELATED : Dual DNP/PhD Programs

As stated earlier, choosing an online program vs. an on-campus depends on the needs of the student. Below are some advantages of both online and on-campus programs:

Online Ph.D. Nursing Program Advantages

  • Flexible schedule – Nurses can work around the clock. They may work weekends, holidays, swing shifts, and graveyard shifts. For this reason, a school must be flexible. Online programs allow nurses to study course material when they can as well as learn at their own pace. They can submit assignments and correspond with instructors and peers electronically, not having to wait until the class or the instructor's office hours.
  • Tuition and Costs – An advantage of online Ph.D. programs is cost. In some cases, students may select a school that is based outside their state. Schools sometimes don't charge different tuition rates for out-of-state students in their online programs, which is a significant cost-saver and allows more education options. Students are encouraged to research this thoroughly, however.
  • Accessibility and Convenience – As stated earlier, online programs are far more flexible than campus programs. At the touch of a button, students can access learning materials, peers, instructors, and online learning modules. They can study in the middle of the night, on holidays, on weekends, or whenever it's convenient. They are not limited to certain hours on certain days. Plus, they don’t need to waste time commuting, parking, and walking to class.
  • Fast Completion – Many online programs boast rapid completion. While students need to be wary of schools that advertise this (specific curricula must be completed), some legitimate online programs do allow students to finish faster than traditional, campus programs. This is because students can study at their own pace. If eager to start out in their new role, online learning might be the way to go.

On-Campus Ph.D. in Nursing Program Advantages

While more and more online nursing programs are popping up, some students still prefer traditional campus learning. Some advantages of on-campus education include:

  • The ability to interact face-to-face with peers and instructors
  • Not having to worry about technology issues
  • Not needing to spend extra money on electronic or technological supplies
  • Accreditation is usually not a concern

While admission requirements for a Ph.D. in nursing program may vary between schools, prospective students may be required to:

  • Hold a current, unencumbered RN/APRN license
  • Hold a BSN or MSN from an accredited university (some schools allow admission for BSN nurses)
  • Have completed a specific number of clinical hours
  • Provide transcripts from all schools attended
  • Have a GPA of 3.5 or higher (specific GPA requirements may vary between schools)
  • Submit a written goal statement to include research career goals
  • Interview with faculty

Ph.D. in Nursing Course Topics

Since the Ph.D. in nursing is more research and education-focused, the course topics differ from that of a more clinically-focused degree program (such as the DNP). Course topics may include:

  • Qualitative and quantitative research
  • Scientific inquiry
  • Synthesis and application of nursing knowledge
  • Research development
  • Chronic illness and care systems

Program Length

The didactic/clinical portion of the Ph.D. program can take around 1-3 years to complete depending on if the nurse starts from a BSN or MSN. The first year is reserved for core courses, while the following year and beyond focus on electives specific to the student's goals and the completion of a teaching practicum. Students are also required to complete a dissertation as well; the dissertation period may take another 1-3 years to complete, depending on the student’s area of focus.

While some nurses choose to earn a Ph.D. to fulfill their educational goals, sometimes it is a requirement for certain positions. Examples include:

  • Nurse educator or instructor
  • Nurse or hospital administrator
  • Research facilities
  • Government and public health nursing roles

Some may even consider a Post-Doctoral Nursing Fellowship Program .

Popular with nurses interested in teaching and research, Ph.D. nursing programs have grown in popularity and are available at schools across the United States. Below you will find a state-by-state guide on available Ph.D. in nursing programs.

Nursing (PhD)

Nursing - Doctor of Philosophy Program (PhD)

The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Nursing program at Molloy University prepares nurses for leadership roles in a variety of organizations, health related agencies, and educational institutions. A PhD education fosters the highest level of scholarly inquiry to promote self-transformation, enabling graduates to demonstrate excellence in leadership, education, and service. Through scholarly inquiry and intellectual engagement, the graduate will generate new knowledge by designing and conducting original research to advance the science of nursing.

The underlying beliefs of the Barbara H. Hagan School Nursing and Health Sciences at Molloy University are rooted in its humanistic framework. The program emphasizes the dignity of the individual, scholarly inquiry, self-enrichment, and high personal and professional standards. Humanistic nursing behavior, grounded in the principles of stewardship and caring, is a goal of the PhD program. A curriculum enriched by the study of the humanities assists in achieving that goal.

PhD in Nursing Program Information

Goals of the program are to prepare future nursing scientists and leaders with the knowledge and skill to develop policies and practices that respond to the inequities of our healthcare and social systems; and improve outcomes and quality of life for all individuals, families, and communities in society. The recipients of the Molloy University PhD in Nursing are prepared to:

  • Serve as leaders in advancing the practice of nursing through research, education, administration, and health policy.
  • Participate fully in multidisciplinary contributions to the creation of nursing knowledge.
  • Generate, test, and extend knowledge through research and theory development and to disseminate the findings.
  • Influence health policy to advance nursing and health care in a global society.
  • Integrate theory and practice through advanced ethical analysis.
  • Appreciate and extend the aesthetic values of nursing.
  • Value the inherent dignity of all humans and protect them from dehumanization of health care.
  • Treasure the ideals of nursing through the stewardship of caring.

The Molloy University PhD in Nursing program curriculum is congruent with the elements identified for the research-focused doctorate by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing.  Within the 51 required credits, there are prescribed credits, elective (cognate) credits, and following coursework and a comprehensive examination, dissertation seminar and progression credits.

  • Theory Core :  The theory cluster of courses address the theoretical and conceptual bases for nursing practice, and the underpinnings of professional leadership. Hallmarks of Scholarly Inquiry introduces the doctoral student to the scholarly process of dissertation research preparation. Ethics: The Foundation of Leadership explores traditional and contemporary ethical principles and core nursing values in order to develop students’ complex analytical skills. Nursing Concept Analysis Through the Humanities allows students to investigate phenomena important to nursing through the lens of the humanities. Students also develop theoretical connections and philosophical reflections as bases for future theory construction. Students gain exposure to the United States health care system and the organizational, public and corporate policies that shape and influence it as a background for nursing leadership in the Scholarship of Health Care Organizations and Policy. In Philosophical Evolution of Nursing Knowledge, elements of philosophy of science are used as a guide to explore the evolution of nursing science. Nursing theory construction is examined as a foundation for research.
  • Research Core : The research cluster, students acquire the tools to build their research skills. A strong foundation in both qualitative and quantitative methods is offered in Qualitative Research Methods, Quantitative Research Methods, and a choice of either Advanced Quantitative or Advanced Qualitative Analysis. Research Residency affords students learning opportunities encompassing all aspects of the research process. In Hallmarks of Scholarly Design and Implications, students have a particular emphasis on dissertation proposal development as well as implications for the nursing profession.
  • Leadership and Education Core :  Leadership themes are threaded throughout the curriculum assuring preparation for leadership in health policy and organizations. Leadership Innovations and Interventions allows students to examine the complex interaction of forces shaping organizations and national and global policy. Nursing Education: Principles, Dynamics, and Innovations provides students with experience and knowledge necessary for doctoral graduates of the future.
  • Cognates : This component allows students to pursue an individualized plan of study that builds a specialized area of competence and supports their research interests and career goals. Cognate courses contribute to the development of nursing knowledge through theoretical and/or methodological approaches. These courses may be taken at Molloy or other academic institutions. The choice of cognates must be approved by the advisor and Director of the PhD Program.
  • Dissertation Seminar & Dissertation Progression :  The dissertation is the culmination of doctoral study. Dissertation Seminar is taken after the completion of all required coursework and successful pass on the comprehensive exam. This course provides the opportunity for the student to develop and refine the dissertation. Following the Dissertation Seminar, the student registers for continuous Dissertation Progression until completion of successful oral defense.

The Molloy PhD in Nursing program is designed with you in mind. Engaging seminar-style classes meet virtually in the comfort of your own space on Thursday evenings with one meeting a month held on campus for events that foster connectedness and networking among fellow students, alumni, and faculty.

To enhance the current PhD program curriculum, the Doctoral Student Development Series is a planned series of events including workshops, seminars, and conference activities that take place throughout the academic year to expose students to a wide range of experiences, meet health care leaders, and discuss contemporary health issues.

Lunch and Learn Research Series take place throughout the academic year for the purpose of sharing nursing knowledge. Knowledge that is generated through nursing research and essential to the development of guidelines that lead practice, education, and policy to improve care and our profession. The presenters are comprised of external researchers, faculty researchers, and newly minted doctoral researchers. Seminars are presented via zoom, participation is free, and continuing nursing education hours are awarded. Research series archives are available for viewing.

Molloy doctoral faculty are engaged in research and are always willing to work with students. We have experts in quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods designs. Our Research Residency program pairs doctoral students with faculty conducting research so that students gain firsthand experience, mentorship, and essential research skill development. “Meet & Greets” and "Academic Matching” are fun informal ways for new doctoral students and doctoral candidates to connect with faculty, learn about the research faculty are conducting, and solicit committee members.

The college has generously made available a designated librarian, statistician, and editor for faculty and students in our doctoral programs at no extra cost.

  • Our librarian teaches students how to access the electronic databases, use advanced search strategies, execute interlibrary loans, and use citation managers to store articles and create references.
  • Our statistical consultant works individually with doctoral students and faculty in all aspects of statistical planning, data analysis, and interpretation.
  • Our writing center is available to all students via face to face or remote modalities for all writing needs.
  • Veronica Feeg, Sigma Theta Tau-Epsilon Kappa Chapter, PhD in Nursing Research, Leadership, and Policy Award was created in 2022 by the Molloy PhD alumni and students, and Sigma Theta Tau-Epsilon Kappa Chapter, in honor of Dr. Veronica Feeg. It will be awarded annually to a PhD graduate who serves as a steward of the profession and exemplifies a commitment to advancing nursing science through research.
  • Jonas Philanthropies offers competitive awards for nurse scholars to engaged in vital research. The Molloy University PhD in Nursing Program boasts seven Jonas Scholars.
  • Sen. Patricia McGee Nursing Faculty Scholarship Program  is a competitive grant offered through New York State Higher Education Services Corporation to increase the number of nursing faculty.
  • HRSA Nurse Faculty Loan Program aims to increase the number of qualified nursing faculty by offering loans to students enrolled in advanced education nursing degree programs who are committed to becoming nurse faculty. In exchange for full-time post-graduation employment as nurse faculty, the program authorizes the cancelation of up to 85% of any such loan. Contact the Doctoral Program Office for information.
  • Graduate Assistantships are offered through the Molloy University Office of Graduate Academic Affairs. Teaching and Research Assistants receive a 3-credit voucher and a $500.00 stipend per semester.

Doctoral students are advanced adult scholars, and their educational experience should be characterized by active and engaging learning. In keeping with Molloy University strengths characterized by small classes with personal student-faculty engagement, we seek to enroll a small cohort of highly qualified candidates. We welcome you to become a part of our community of scholars.

Molloy University employs a "whole person" philosophy to evaluate candidates for admission to the doctoral program. A multi-faceted assessment of the applicant's potential for success includes the following:

  • A master's degree from an accredited program. A higher degree in nursing (baccalaureate and/or master's). Degrees outside of nursing need to be relevant to nursing and health.
  • Minimum Grade Point Average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale from applicant's master's program.
  • Original official transcripts from all college programs and courses.
  • Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the United States.
  • A written statement of career goals and research interests.
  • Three letters of reference from professionals in the field that speak to the potential of the applicant as a scholar, to include at least one from a former faculty and at least one from a recent employer.
  • A current curriculum vitae.
  • A copy of a recent academic or scholarly paper, research report, or publication.
  • An interview with the Director of the PhD Program and faculty of the Doctoral Program with concurrent completion of a brief writing sample evaluated by a designated PhD admission committee.
  • International students must follow the regular admissions procedure including submission of college transcripts. See the catalog for English evaluations of transcripts. The TOEFL examination for those whom English is not the native language is required with a minimum score of 500.

Phd in nursing student rachel robins selected as jonas scholar.

Rachel Robins, PhD in Nursing student at Pace University's College of Health Professions

Jonas Nursing , a leading supporter of doctoral nursing education in the U.S., and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), announced that Rachel Robins, a PhD in Nursing student at Pace University, has been selected as a Jonas Scholar for the program’s 2024–2026 cohort. This program aims to improve health care by expanding the pool of PhD and DNP-prepared nurses needed to educate the next generation of nurse leaders.

Robins joins a select group of 63 of the nation’s most promising doctoral nursing students chosen for their passion for teaching, academic excellence, and research prowess. As a Jonas Scholar, Robins will receive financial support, mentorship, and a curriculum tailored to providing students with the learning experiences they need to successfully transition into a faculty role.

“The PhD in Nursing Program is thrilled that Rachel Robins was selected as a Jonas Scholar," says Sharon Wexler , PhD, RN, FNGNA, department chairperson. "We are appreciative of this incredible opportunity for our student. Professor Lin Drury , PhD, who has expertise in research with vulnerable populations, will be Rachel’s mentor. We are confident that Rachel will make excellent contributions to the field.”

Robins joins an incredibly diverse group of doctoral nursing students, with over 50% of its 2024–2026 cohort representative of Black, Latino, and other communities of color, ensuring that burgeoning nursing leaders reflect the patient population of their diverse communities. This group of 63 Scholars contain a multitude of research interests focused on some of the country’s most pressing challenges, including underserved populations in nursing, mental health, and veterans’ health.

Robin's research focuses on the assessment and interventions for postpartum depression among Black women in New York City. This passion stems from her deep concern over the disparities in maternal care these women often face.

“Pace University’s PhD in Nursing program and my advisor, Catherine S. Finlayson , PhD, RN, OCN, have been instrumental in helping me navigate this complex issue. The University has provided me access to many research resources and guided me in refining my ideas, which has helped me develop my approach and ensured that my research is both impactful and relevant to the communities I aim to serve.

I am thrilled to be selected as a Jonas Scholar and look forward to my expanded network to assist in my exploration and pursuit of overcoming disparities in maternal care for New York City Black women.”

Visit the Jonas Scholars program for more information.

Students must earn a “B” or better in all graduate courses with a NURS prefix in order to earn credit toward graduation. Graduate students earning a grade of less than a B in any graduate course will have one opportunity to repeat one course, one time. Students will need to discuss the circumstances related to the less than expected level of performance and their plans for success in the repeat of the course with first the faculty of record and then their advisor. Students earning a second course grade of less than a B will be dismissed from the graduate nursing program. A student may only repeat one course with a NURS prefix throughout their graduate study. If a student does not earn a “C+” or better on the first try, a collaborative decision between the advisor and the student will determine if a repeat of the course is appropriate. The M.S. program does not require a final comprehensive exam.

Doctor of Nursing Practice Requirements

The Doctor of Nursing Practice (D.N.P.) Program offers a terminal degree in nursing for those interested in an advanced nursing practice role. The D.N.P. prepares nurses to assume leadership roles as providers and administrators in healthcare settings or as clinical faculty in educational settings. The D.N.P. program focuses on education in the scholarship of application and integration. This program has two entry/matriculation points: post-Bachelor’s degree (B.S.-D.N.P.) and post-Master’s degree entry for those already holding RN or APRN licensure and certification with Master of Science (M.S.) preparation. The B.S. - D.N.P. Program includes four Nurse Practitioner concentrations (Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (this program is not currently accepting new students), Family Nurse Practitioner, and Neonatal Acute Care Nurse Practitioner) as well as a concentration for Nurse Leader. These concentrations require students to complete the coursework for the associated concentration for the M.S. in Nursing and lead to the conferral of an M.S. degree as part of the B.S.-D.N.P. Program. This option allows students to begin advanced practice while continuing their doctoral studies.

The B.S.-D.N.P. Program options range in credits from 64-70 in total (dependent on area of concentration), as well as a D.N.P. Project and evidence of a minimum of 1,000 supervised clinical hours. The Post-M.S. Program of Study requires a minimum of 25 credits, a D.N.P. Project, and evidence of a minimum of 1,000 supervised clinical hours post-baccalaureate. A scholarly portfolio, a general exam and a D.N.P. project are required for graduation.

  • Auditory ability (corrected as necessary) to recognize and respond to soft voices, auditory timers, equipment alarms, call bells, and to effectively use devices for measurement of blood pressure, breath sounds, etc.
  • Tactile ability to palpate a pulse and to detect changes or abnormalities of surface texture, skin temperature, body contour, muscle tone, and joint movement.
  • Sufficient position, movement and balance sensations to assist and protect patients who are ambulating, transferring, or performing other activities.

Critical Thinking

The student must possess sufficient abilities in the areas of calculation, critical problem solving, reasoning, and judgment to be able to comprehend and process information within a reasonable time frame as determined by the faculty and the profession. The student must be able to prioritize, organize and attend to tasks and responsibilities efficiently. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Ability to collect, interpret and analyze written, verbal, and observed data about patients.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, integrate information, and make decisions.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of the principles, indications, and contraindications for nursing interventions.

If a nursing applicant or student is unable to meet one or more of these areas due to a long-term or short-term disability, they may request consideration for an accommodation through the Center for Students with Disabilities. Prompt notice is essential for full consideration. The requirements for clinical practice apply for all programs which include a clinical component.

  • Unsubsidized Direct Stafford Loan:  Non-need-based, low-interest, fixed-rate loan available to undergraduate, graduate, or professional degree candidates registered for at least six credits in an academic program that leads to a degree. Repayment is deferred until six months after graduation, if you drop below half-time status, or take classes as a non-matriculated student. You may receive both subsidized and unsubsidized loans for the same enrollment period, but the total amount of these loans may not exceed the annual loan limit.
  • Federal Graduate and Professional Student PLUS Loan:  With terms nearly identical to the Parent PLUS loan, the “Grad PLUS” is also a credit-based, federally guaranteed loan awarded to students themselves who are registered for at least six credits in graduate or professional degree programs. Similar to the Parent PLUS loan, a Graduate/Professional student must complete Graduate PLUS application, accessible on  studentaid.gov . A PLUS Loan applicant who has an adverse credit history may still be able to receive a loan by documenting existing extenuating circumstances or by obtaining an endorser who does not have an adverse credit history. An endorser is someone who agrees to repay the loan if the borrower fails to do so. Also, if a Graduate Student/Professional PLUS applicant is denied the PLUS loan, s/he must complete Credit Counseling on studentaid.gov. It will not reduce your eligibility for the Stafford Loan, but the amount of any Stafford loans you will affect the amount of your PLUS loan. The PLUS loan is limited to the cost of attendance minus other aid received, as certified by New York Tech.

The Federal College Work Study Program provides part-time employment to assist eligible enrolled students in paying for educational expenses. It is based on economic need. If you are not eligible for Federal College Work Study, you can also become a student aid. For more information, please contact  Student Employment.

The Fixed Income Strats Summer Associate Program is an intensive 10-week program that provides Summer Associates the opportunity to work alongside full-time professionals on impactful, quantitative projects. Summer Associates will work within an assigned team for the entirety of the program. The multi-faceted program features senior strat speaker series, product area training, and networking events. With individual coaching and continuous feedback, the program enables Summer Associates to experience and understand what a long-term career with the Firm entails.

Training Program

The Summer will kick off with a week-long introductory training program, which will provide an institutional contextualization to the work that Summer Associates will be doing through market-knowledge training, finance workshops, coding and product training. Following the training week, Summer Associates will continue to receive more individualized, on-the-job training as they join their assigned desks and begin their daily work and projects. Summer Associates will have a direct manager, as well as a program mentor, both of whom will act as invaluable resources throughout their time at Morgan Stanley.

Responsibilities

Morgan Stanley operates several teams which require experts in statistical analysis, applied mathematics, computer science and computational finance. These teams operate our leading trading platforms, market making operations and derivative structuring, pricing and risk management. The mathematical problems arising in these areas are subtle, complex and require a broad range of technical skills. As a Summer Associate, you will leverage the technical expertise you have been grooming in your academic studies and apply it to extremely applied problems. Many of the applied problems and processes that you will work on are still unsolved and are yet to be optimized.

Summer Associates sit within one of five groups of Fixed Income Strats. You may be selected to interview with multiple teams:

Macro departments within Morgan Stanley include Interest Rates and Foreign Exchange, with examples such as interest rate swaps, FX swaps, cross-currency swaps, and futures.

Credit Complex:

Credit Complex is comprised of Securitized Products, Corporates, Municipal Securities and Lending solutions. Strats are oftentimes focused on developing mathematical models for day-to-day trading and risk mitigation of asset-backed securities, as well as pricing highly structured or distressed credit products.

Fixed Income Management:

The Fixed Income Management team is a cross-product team that partners with the various verticals within Fixed Income to implement tools and business reporting solutions aiming to enhance the business’ ability to manage key performance indicators and resources. Sales Strats are tasked with creating and delivering data-driven insights and workflow innovations for both internal and external clients.

Commodities:

The Commodities desk is a market leader across a broad range of commodities markets, with expertise in areas including client risk management, financing solutions and investor products. Strats can find themselves assisting the desk to price incoming trades, utilizing quantitative skills to productionize models, and rapidly develop innovative trader tools.

The XVA desk focuses on pricing and hedging counterparty credit risk, funding, and collateral risk associated with OTC derivatives.
